Abstract: For storage or final disposal most of the radioactive wastesfrom nuclear power plants and medical or sientific researchinstitutions will be fixed in concrete in 200 l or 400 ldrums. In general, the analytical data of the wasteknown by taking samples of the primary waste. To calculate the surface dose rate of these drums the dose rate build-up factor B is needed. This factor is given by the following equationB = A1 * e$^{-a1 * \mu x}$ + A2 * e$^{-a2 * \mu x}$A1, A2, -a1 and a2 are material specific constants. As A1 + A2 =1 the equation can be transformed to B = A1 * e$^{-a1 * \mu x}$ + (1-A1) * e$^{-a2 * \mu x}$In the tables of this report the user can find the valuesfor A1, -a1, a2 and the mass energy-absorption coefficent$\mu / \varphi$ in relation to the energy.By multiplication of $\mu / \varphi$ by the density of the concretethe linear absorption coefficient $\mu$ may be obtained.
